West Bengal teacher recruitment scam, Enforcement Directorate (ED) has so far attached properties worth Rs 103.10 cror. KOLKATA The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has so far temporarily attached properties worth Rs 103.10 crore of the accused in the West Bengal teacher recruitment Scams.

The involvement of the then Bengal education minister to vice-chancellor to cook has come to the fore in the scam.

The names of many leaders in power who have formed the innings from behind the scenes have also been added to it. Former Trinamool Congress (TMC) minister Partha Chatterjee, his close aide Arpita Mukherjee,

Trinamool MLA Manik Bhattacharya and members of the teachers' appointment committee and senior officials of the education department have been arrested.

Apart from this, a trap is also being laid and investigation is going on for the money laundering companies. 

For the first time in bengal's history, the cbi arrested suviresh bhattacharya, vice-chancellor of north bengal university and former chairman of wb board of secondary education (wbbse).

Partha Chatterjee is now in cbi's custody after ED's arrest on July 23 while former advisor Shanti Prasad Sinha,

WB School Service Commission (WBSSC) has arrested board chairman Shok Kumar Saha and former WBBSE president Kalyanmay Ganguly.

Around Rs 7 to 8 lakh was siphoned off by middlemen for appointment of teachers in primary schools in the scam.

Money laundering and a gang of corruption following a Calcutta High Court order on June 8, 2022, against Soumen Nandi in the State, CBI had booked some office bearers of WB Primary Education Board for alleged irregularities.

An FIR was registered in the selection of assistant teachers. In its chargesheet, the ED has mentioned links with office bearers of Chandan Mandal under which a lot of money was charged for appointment of teachers in primary schools.

All the evidence points the finger at Partha Chatterjee. After a thorough investigation, the ED has submitted chargesheets against Arpita Mukherjee and six companies - Aache Entertainment Pvt Ltd, Anant Texfab Pvt Ltd, Symbiosis Merchants Pvt Ltd, Centri Engineering Pvt Ltd, Viewmore Highrise Pvt Ltd and APA Utility Services mentioned.

The cook, the driver, the gardener became the director Partha Chatterjee refused to own any company.

However, according to the ED, Partha Chatterjee had at least four companies in his possession and in one he was a dummy director with the help of Manoj Jain.

The ED charge sheet said Manoj Jain was close to Chatterjee.

Last Goswami had kept a cook at Manoj Jain's house on a monthly salary of Rs 3000. He worked there till October 2021 and by then his salary was 8000. An ED investigation in July revealed that he was a director in Zameera Sunshine Limited.

Witness Kalyan Dhar in his statement to the ED said that his sister-in-law Arpita Mukherjee had recruited him as a driver on a monthly salary of Rs 18000. He is also a director in several companies.
